Zane Smith is in his second full-time Cup season. Through the first 11 races of the 2025 campaign, the No. 38 driver has had a solid start, including seven top 20s and a season-best ninth at Phoenix. Heading into Sunday’s race at Kansas, he had an average finishing position of 19.1.
Heim was pressed into service last year as a substitute for Legacy Motor Club driver Erik Jones, who suffered a compression fracture at Talladega Superspeedway. He made his Cup debut at Dover, followed by races at Kansas (still subbing for Jones) and Nashville (for 23XI).
