Maps show areas under hosepipe ban as fourth water firm declares restrictions
Thames Water announced its hosepipe or temporary use ban (TUB) after the EA placed much of its area in its "prolonged dry weather" category, one away from drought status. The EA said it expects more water companies to follow with their own TUBs, although it will be dependent on rainfall and temperatures in the weeks ahead.
The issue comes when you turn on water from your mains and channel it through a hose or hose-like tool, so avoid doing this at all for reasons outside the exempted terms as long as you’re under a ban.
