A Cape May County grade-school teacher is accused of having a sexual relationship with a student and birthing his baby when the boy was 13, a court record said. Laura Caron, 34, slept and showered with the boy, who began living at her Cape May Court House home at the age of 11, according to a probable cause statement.

Laura Caron, a 5th-grade teacher at Middle Township Elementary School, allegedly had an "inappropriate sexual relationship" with the student when they lived together at Caron’s home in Cape May Court House, an unincorporated community, between 2016 and 2020, according to a press release from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office.

The boy was about 11 years old when he and the teacher began sleeping in the same bed, state says. She’s jailed on abuse charges.

A 34-year-old New Jersey teacher has been charged with sexually assaulting a student when the child resided in her home several years ago. Between 2016 and 2020, Laura R.
