Martin Short has won his first SAG Award at 74 years old for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series.

The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards was full of Hollywood A-listers, but some were noticeably absent. When Joey King and Jack Quaid called out Martin Short ’s name when announcing the winner of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series, the duo began looking for the Only Murders in the Building star in the crowd.

On Sunday, Feb. 23, Martin Short won the award for his performance as Oliver Putnam in Only Murders in the Building at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. This year marked Short's third individual SAG Award nod for Only Murders, and first win.

Kieran Culkin, Zoe Saldaña, Jean Smart, Jessica Gunning, Colin Farrell, Martin Short, Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai are among the winners so far.

The Hulu series, which debuted in 2021, follows three unlikely friends — played by Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Short, 74 — who form a friendship over their love of true crime. The group ends up solving various murder mysteries connected to their New York City apartment building, the Arconia, which has led to many celebrity cameos over the years.

Gomez accepted the award on behalf of her cast, with the show taking home two trophies at Sunday's SAG Awards.
