The chairwoman of a critical agency that reviews federal employee firings can stay on the job, a judge ruled Tuesday, formally reversing President Donald Trump’s “unlawful” decision to fire her.

The Trump administration couldn’t give a reason in court for firing Cathy A. Harris from the Merit Systems Protection Board and must reinstate her, a judge rules.

The ruling follows a weekend decision to stop the removal of Special Counsel Hampton Dellinger, who has pushed back on the firings of probationary employees.
