Tornado watch issued for much of South Louisiana, including New Orleans, Baton Rouge
With severe weather in the forecast Wednesday, much of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi remain under a tornado watch until 8 p.m.
Alabama faces severe weather risk today, Saturday: Tornado watch issued
The Storm Prediction Center as added an enhanced risk for severe weather for part of west Alabama for Saturday in its latest forecast update. The rest of the state has a Level 2 risk. The weather service said tornadoes, damaging winds and heavy rain will again be possible. The additional rain could also increase concerns about flooding.
Tornado watch issued in New Orleans area as risk of severe storms increases
The NWS also issued an enhanced risk of severe weather and slight risk of excessive rainfall, with the highest threat north of the Interstates 10 and 12 corridor. In addition to tornadoes, gusts of wind up to 70 mph and flash flooding are all possible.
