Huntsville City Schools (HCS) announced that all elementary schools within the district will receive advanced weapon detection systems.

Huntsville City Schools will be installing advanced weapon detection systems at all elementary schools across the district next week while students are out for spring break. The systems, known as Opengate, will provide a screening process as students enter school buildings each day.

Scottsboro City Schools announced that Scottsboro High School will begin implementing a weapons detection screening system.
