Driving experts share safety tips ahead of snowstorm, GDOT preps for round 2 of winter weather
With round 2 of winter weather heading our way, there’s an emphasis on staying safe on the roads this weekend.
Crews and contractors will begin brining at 7 a.m. on Friday, January 30, covering routes across GDOT’s District 2 — including the Augusta area. Brine is a salt‑water mixture that helps reduce the chance of ice forming on the pavement.
A winter storm watch is in effect for the Augusta area, with potential snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches.
