One man was found dead after a shooting in Detroit on Michigan Avenue. Officials say just before 4:30 p.m. Detroit police were called to a parking lot on the 5800 block of Michigan Ave for reports of a shooting.

A federal firearm charge is pending in the case of a 2024 shooting in Detroit during which a woman was struck with five gunshots.

Before the service was completed, the woman stopped and asked to be dropped off at a house near Monte Vista and Intervale. The men took her to the house. When they arrived, Mays asked for $10 back from the $30 he paid the woman for the service. The woman gave Mays $5 and said she could not find the other $5.

A woman shot six times by a Detroit police officer after a traffic stop last fall is now suing that officer and the city for $25 million. After the shooting, Police Chief Todd Bettison said after the shooting that multiple department policies were violated.

A civil complaint was filed on Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit by attorney Maurice Davis on behalf of Tracey Allen, they said. She is seeking $25 million in damages and legal costs.
