The Islanders have outscored the Rangers 12-2 in the first three meetings. The Isles coasted to a 5-0 rout at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 8, earned a 2-0 home win on Dec. 27 and scored twice in a span of 71 seconds late in the first period of Wednesday's 5-2 home win.
The New York Rangers spoiled the party in Miami, beating the Florida Panthers in the 2026 NHL Winter Classic, 5-1. Big performances from the trio of Mika Zibanejad, Alexis Lafreniere and Artemi Panarin fueled the victory as the Rangers picked up an enormous win in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

Jonathan Quick finally earns first win as full-time Rangers starter to end five-game drought
Jonathan Quick’s first stretch as the Rangers starting goaltender — taking over for an injured Igor Shesterkin — had been filled with struggles. An 0-5-0 record entering Monday’s game against the Bruins.
The Rangers had only 14 seconds of even-strength time before committing another penalty: a Matthew Robertson delay of game for sending a puck over the glass. New York’s penalty kill managed to contain Celebrini and the Sharks’ top unit, but Pavol Regenda scored on a backhand shot when San Jose’s second grouping took the ice.
Macklin Celebrini had two goals to end his longest drought of the season, pacing the San Jose Sharks to a 3-1 win over the New York Rangers on Friday night.
