Devastating tornadoes are tearing across parts of eastern Nebraska and Iowa on Friday as a multiday severe thunderstorm event ramped up in the central United States, injuring at least three people.
Five tornadoes touched down in Iowa when a bank of storms passed through the state on July 11. The heavy rainfall in eastern Iowa started on July 10, and 2 inches of rain fell in less than four hours.
