SAN ANTONIO - A second wildfire has broken out near I-10 as crews continue to battle a massive blaze near Fredericksburg. Around 7:20 p.m. on Monday, the Gillespie County Sheriff's Office announced that a second blaze had begun near I-10 and Duderstadt, spanning 50 acres, which is now 20% contained.

The Crabapple Fire has burned thousands of acres in Gillespie County in just over 32 hours. As of 9 p.m. March 16, the fire burned 9,500 acres and is 55 percent contained. There is not a mandatory evacuation in place;
