In a shift away from next-generation Covid-19 vaccines, the Trump administration is investing $500 million in a vaccine project championed by two scientists who were recently tapped to serve in senior roles within the National Institutes of Health,

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is requiring all new vaccines to undergo placebo testing in a new policy change meant to promote greater transparency.

Per the Post, which first reported the story, “‘All new vaccines will undergo safety testing in placebo-controlled trials prior to licensure — a radical departure from past practices,’ an HHS spokesperson told The Washington Post in response to questions about Kennedy’s comments on the measles vaccines and general vaccine policy."
