Brave New World set the high water mark for 2025 when it made $88.8 million during its first Friday-to-Sunday playing on the big screen, and A Minecraft Movie just managed to bring in $157 million (per The Numbers).

Warner Bros.' kid-friendly movie shattered all expectations to score the top start ever for a video-adaptation, as well as rouse the beleaguered box office back to life.

With “Minecraft” accounting for around four-fifths of the overall business, the No. 2 film on this weekend’s charts was Amazon MGM’s “A Working Man” with $7.3 million in its second weekend, giving the $40 million action film a 10-day domestic total of $27.7 million.
