Minnesota Sea Grant has added a feature to its Lakes Ice-Out Clock allowing users to look up a forecast for specific lakes.
While much of Minnesota will continue to enjoy unusually mild weather, one part of the state is returning to winter weather.
The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a Wind Advisory . It will be in effect from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Northwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected.
An extreme cold warning has been issued for most of Minnesota as temperatures plunge to dangerous levels. The National Weather Service says that air temperatures will be between -10 and -20 wind chills will drop to between -35 and -45 in much of the state from 1 a.m. and 11 a.m. Monday.
