The first-term senator from Michigan will represent Democrats after President Donald Trump's first joint address of his second term.
Freshman Sen. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan will deliver the Democratic response to Trump’s joint address to Congress on Tuesday, a move that highlights the party’s focus on reclaiming working-class voters.
Slotkin, a Michigan Democrat, said she is "looking forward to speaking directly to the American people next week."
