The upward battle for South Carolina men’s basketball at the SEC Tournament begins Wednesday. The Gamecocks (12-19 overall) finished 2-16 in SEC after falling to No. 4 Tennessee on Saturday afternoon. They’ve now secured the No. 16 seed in the conference tournament.
Senior day was held on Saturday at Food City Center. Fourth-ranked Tennessee (25-6, 12-6 SEC) defeated South Carolina (12-19, 2-16 SEC), 75-65, to conclude regular-season play. South Carolina dropped both games remaining on their regular season schedule against Georgia and Tennessee to sit at 12-19 overall, as well as 2-16 in SEC play. The Gamecocks are now the conference's No. 16 seed, and will face Arkansas on Mar. 12 in the first round.
