A magnitude 4.6 earthquake has hit Alaska just miles from Mount Spurr, which has been showing signs of unrest and is at risk of an imminent volcanic eruption

Among the active volcanic eruptions was the Krasheninnikov volcano, a previously at least 400-year-dormant volcano.

The most notable of the seven volcanoes to erupt is Krasheninnikov. On Sunday, Krasheninnikov shot an ash plume up to 3.7 miles (6 kilometers) into the air, according to the BBC. It was the first time experts had registered its eruption since the 15th century.
