Severe weather is not expected tomorrow night, but brief heavy rain and lightning are possible. There will be isolated showers on and off on Monday. Stronger storms are expected to arrive overnight into Tuesday morning. Large hail and damaging winds are anticipated with these storms, with the highest risk in our eastern half.

A little bit of moisture aloft and cold temperatures developed a small band of light snow in areas of North Texas on Friday morning. Most of it was evaporating before it hit the ground. But light snow was reported in the Parker, Tarrant and Johnson County areas Friday morning.

Severe weather can happen at any time in North Texas, but climatologically the month of March is when we start to see severe storms become more likely. Severe weather peaks during April and May.

"Make sure all your outside faucets are covered. You can buy the Styrofoam covers. Everybody has seen them. You can put them on outside to make sure that helps. If you don't have that available, wrap some blankets and tape them on," Crowson said.

Warm weather continues in North Texas with highs in the 70s through the weekend. Cloud cover will increase on Sunday, and there is a slight chance of showers Sunday night.

North Texans should savor Saturday’s sunshine, because the National Weather Service says storms are expected to roll through the region Sunday and into early next week. Isolated to scattered showers and storms will spread east across the region starting late Sunday afternoon,
