Footage: Bob Cousy, age 41, Playing For the Cincinnati Royals
Adding still more to the story was Bob Cousy's decision to play at age 41. In order to be activated, the Royals had to trade solid reserve Bill Dinwiddie to the Boston Celtics so that Red Auerbach could release him from the Boston retired list. Cousy played seven games in November, and played poorly, having not played in the NBA for five seasons.
Bob Cousy - closer to Oscar Robertson or Bob Davies and Bobby …
May 10, 2023 · Bob Cousy is quite down my top 100, maybe not even in it if I did a recount. If using Cousy's 63 ranking as a medium of sorts, he's still closer to guys out of the top 100, even if those guys are like 130, 140, 150 etc as the tiers start to have more players in them the lower down the rankings you go.
Retro Player of the Year 1956-57 UPDATE — Bob Pettit
Aug 3, 2024 · 4. Bob Cousy 5. Neil Johnston In reverse order: Johnston was the 1b on the second-best team in the regular season, and that 1a was an injured non-entity in the postseason. Cousy discussed at length throughout the thread and will likely not be reappearing on my ballot after this year but did enough to earn placement this year.

Jul 18, 2024 · 3. Bob Cousy 4. Jim Pollard 5. Dolph Schayes Offensive Player of the Year: 1. Paul Arizin 2. Bob Cousy 3. Ed Macauley Defensive Player of the Year: 1. George Mikan 2. Jim Pollard 3. Nat Clifton Mikan is the clear POY and DPOY for me. Arizin's ability to score and rebound slightly edges out Cousy, as by all accounts Cousy was not quite a ...

Highest Reasonable All-Time Ranking For Bob Cousy? - RealGM
Jul 21, 2021 · In terms of % of teams shots (fga wise), taking a cursory glance at '52 Davies (his minutes go down after this, though he maintains points by drawing more fouls) versus '58 (but Cousy misses games) or '55 Cousy I'm not sure I could see a gap in Cousy's favor never mind "a good gap in offensive load". More though I'd just caution about any ...
Retro Player of the Year 1956-57 UPDATE — Bob Pettit
Aug 2, 2024 · Bob Cousy - OK, ZeppelinPage convinced me to move Cousy from my HM's into 3rd. As I've alluded to repeatedly, I suspect bbref underrates the Celtic ORtg's during the Russell era (due to inflated pace estimates); ZP [via citing Ben Taylor] reenforces this notion, as by Taylor's estimated paces, the Celtics were actually the 2nd-best offense in ...
Is SGA an underrated scorer or was Kobe overrated?
Dec 28, 2024 · Cousy is an undersized, unathletic, defensive liability who couldn't shoot (career 375 FG%). Obviously, since it didn't exist, he had no 3pt shot. He had bad handles that would be unplayable today, and even his trick passes are nothing special.
Retro Player of the Year 1956-57 UPDATE — Bob Pettit
Aug 4, 2024 · 1. Bob Cousy 2. Bob Pettit 3. Neil Johnston I feel strongly the Celtics were actually a good offense this year, and Cousy had some incredible passing and ball-stealing games in the playoffs. Pettit was a close 2nd, and Neil Johnston gets in over Arizin due to availability in the playoffs. DPOY 1. Bill Russell 2. Maurice Stokes 3. Tom Heinsohn
could Bob Cousy make the NBA team today ? - RealGM
A guy like Bob Cousy was a NBA Champion and an MVP, he wouldn't even come close to making an NBA team. A guy like Elgin Baylor, who averaged 27 and 13 for his career, probably wouldn't make an NBA team either.
