This was my first spring solo trip and the longest solo canoe journey I’ve ever taken. Over the week I experienced everything from warm +20°C days to near-freezing nights, 50 km/h winds, and multiple severe thunderstorms. One of the most intense moments came on my birthday — camped on a small island in the middle of a bay as a powerful thunderstorm rolled thro
