16 hours later and “Self Portrait, Indeed” is complete. This was a hyper realistic speed painting that I didn’t think I could do. I did the piece over 4 days, working only 4 hours a day so that I had a fresh perspective for each sitting. I couldn’t help myself with the sound track 😂😂😂 this painting was meant to be finished today but I got stuck on the nose, the nostril was giving me a hard time, so I had to resort to my basic process. Back to what I know, sticking to my step by step process saved the day! I need to paint the light on the crown/forehead, and create texture in the shadow side of the face.
