Did you know there are thirty species of anemonefish? Family members fall into six groups called "Complexes”, Percula, Tomato, Skunk, Clarkii, Saddleback and Spinecheek. Oddly enough, all but one of the anemonefishes are found within the genus Amphiprion. The odd fish out, the Spinecheek Clownfish, has a genus all to itself. This monotypic genus was created because the Spinecheek Clownfish, unlike other clownfish, has a bony cheek spine below each eye located just prior to their gill covers. | O
