As temperatures drop, ice on retention ponds may look safe, but it isn’t. These ponds freeze unevenly and can remain dangerously thin, even after several cold days. Please stay off icy retention ponds and keep children and pets well away. One step onto unsafe ice can turn into an emergency in seconds.
