Turkey vultures have a nearly six-foot wingspan! They are an easy bird to identify from a distance because they hold their wings in a distinctive v-shape and wobble side to side as they ride thermals sniffing out carrion. From underneath, they appear black except for a lighter tail and trailing edge of the wings.
