The USS ALABAMA Battleship Commission, staff and volunteers mourn the passing of USS ALABAMA Crewman Clyde Albert Graven. Clyde Graven was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 20, 1922. He attended the University of Tennessee where he earned a football scholarship. He enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve (USNR) on March 11, 1942.
