Bombardier Q-Series, also known as Dash 8, is a family of twin-engine turboprop regional aircraft, developed by de Havilland Canada in the early 1980s. On December 28, PAL Airlines* (operated by Air Canada) De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400 (C-GPNA) flight #AC2259 from St. John's to Halifax landed at Halifax Stanfield International Airport with left landing gear damaged, resulting in the wing scraping the runway and catching fire.
