Saudade: a Portuguese word that doesn’t really have a true English translation. It’s the “love that remains”, a somewhat melancholic feeling of incompleteness. It is the absence of someone or something. The feeling you get when you are moving away from a place or thing. It’s the absence of a set of particular and desirable experiences and pleasures once lived. It’s everything our family feels as we look back on this special experience and wonder about what’s next.
