A little throwback to Aragog, my female Burgundy Goliath bird-eating tarantula, moulting back in December! Catching one of my tarantula’s moulting is always a treat. As hard as it is to document this process, the work and patience are worth it! Moulting is when a tarantula sheds its old exoskeleton to grow larger or regenerate lost or damaged body parts. In Aragog’s case, she did both things! If you look closely, you can see that she regrew a leg she lost during her last moult when it got stuck
