#RIP multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer James Mtume who died today at the age of 76. He was the son of #JimmyHeath, but raised by his step-father James Forman whowas a local jazz pianist in Philadelphia. He adopted the name Mtume which means messenger in Swahili while he was in college. In a 2019 TedTalk, he said, “Music is a unique art form. I mean all art is special. But music is unique. It’s the only art form I know that can touch you, but you can’t touch it. What do I mean by that?
