In this short clip of Michael Jackson performing “She’s Out of My Life”, Michael appears to be holding back tears at the very end, and he did in fact cry on a few of the takes made for the recording. Music critic Stephen Holden remarked of the performance: “The singer's ultra dramatic phrasing, which takes huge emotional risks and wins every time, wrings the last drop of pathos” from the song.
