Phase 2 of bridge replacement work is underway as part of the SR 33 widening project in Maynardville. Crews are currently demolishing the old bridge over Bull Run Creek. Drivers will use a recently completed section of bridge while the new northbound lanes are being constructed. The project is widening SR 33 to four lanes with a median turn lane from the Knox County line to State Route 144, which includes one new bridge and six new box culverts.
